Hiya! I use Ja’s buyable sky object (you can find it in the misc deco section of the catalogue, I believe) and recolors by Poppet and Keoni. :3

Hello! I just saw your post on which lighting mod you use and I was wondering if you’ve used the Gunmod’s one. Which one looks better in your opinion? Thanks
Hi there! I used Gunmod’s for a long time, actually, but I don’t really remember it too well (it was awhile ago!). I think I remember the dark lighting being a little too dark? 😡 I’m not really sure! I just remember seeing keoni-chan post a picture with some really awesome lighting and I read that she used Spookymuffin’s mod. I decided to give it a try, and then I just never switched back. :3
Hi! Just wondering if you have any tips for making an Uberhood? :) And do you have to use SimPE for making all of the relationships and family connections- likewise, how do you get all of the sims from the different neighbourhoods from one neighbourhood to the other?
Hi hi! When I made my uberhood, I basically just followed the instructions in Meetmetotheriver’s post here. I picked Belladonna Cove as my main hood, then downloaded all the other hoods as subhoods (shopping districts). You can mix and match whichever ones you want to create an uberhood to your liking. There’s no need to futz with anything in SimPE – the Sims from different neighborhoods aren’t intended to have any familial connections with each other. Any new relationships will be made after you put your uberhood together and Sims start to appear in neighborhoods other than their own. 😉 But the great thing about Meetme’s templates is that they are clean, fixed versions of the original EAxis neighborhoods. EAxis left quite a few things messed up in our games – borked face templates, memories, family trees, etc. Meetme took the time to fix these things for us. 🙂 So whether you want to build an uberhood or play each neighborhood individually, I’d recommend downloading her templates either way!
Hopefully this helps you out a bit! If you have any other questions, feel free to send them my way and I’ll see what I can do. 🙂
Hey, sorry for asking but, do you use a lighting mod? The fact that light doesn’t travel between floors annoys the hell out of me!
I do! I use Spookymuffin’s lighting mod which you can find here. 🙂
Hello!! This might be a bit of a vague, broad question but I was wondering where you get your male clothes from? I have a severe lack of them in my game and can never seem to find any that fit to my style. All my males end up wearing a different recolour of the same top by the time they’re adults haha! If you could please point me towards any blogs or downloads I’d be extremely grateful :) Thank you!
Hi hi! I know what you mean, I feel like males have such a limited selection of clothing. 😐 Fortunately, there are some creators who make such nice, practical clothing for males that my poor Sims are able to have some variety in their wardrobes. :3 Here are some of my favorites!
- Amaryll
- Bunhead
- Clyde
- Fanseelamb
- Inzey
- Mel
- Mikexx2
- Misomoso-no
- Needlecream
- Nilou
- Nymphy
- Nyren
- Radio Gnome Invisible
- Skell
- Trapping
- Veranka
- Yandereplum
- Yuxi
Some of these link to LJs, some link to tumblrs, others are to particular posts. But all of these people have plenty of other creations worth looking at (especially GoS members, in which case I was too lazy to comb through every CiJ/SS/Advent thread…). Hopefully this is a good start for you!! 😀

Hi bridge anon! I’m sorry I didn’t get to reply to your messages until just now (dang 13 hour shifts), but I’m glad the problem got sorted out! 🙂 And thank you so much to polychromesims and shutupshirley for helping! ❤
Hiya! I downloaded some custom neighborhoods and some had bridges. However when I loaded the neighborhoods the bridges didn’t show up. Do you know why? :/
Hey there! I’ve never had this problem before, so I’m not quite sure. : Was the neighborhood decorated at all, or just an empty terrain? It’s possible you may just need to place the bridges yourself. Or if they were custom neighborhood decorations, maybe you need to download the bridges first? (I don’t think I’ve ever seen any custom bridges but I could be wrong??) Ack, I’m sorry I’m not much help. 😦
Has anyone else ever had this problem or could help anon out?
Also wcif the long windows in Sheila’s apartment? And can you recommend any empty neighborhoods that are good for building up yourself? :)
Hiya!

The windows in Sheila’s apartment are these AL add-ons by Leefish. 🙂
As for empty neighborhood terrains, my favorites are by voleste and nimitwinklesims (I’m currently using voleste’s Beetle Fields for Sycamore Cove and Plockton for Windham University). There are some neat ones in the neighborhood tag on MTS and on Trapping Crushes. Blacky’s Sim Zoo has quite a few, and when I had a brief moment of panic in which I thought I would have to restart my whole neighborhood from scratch, I was looking at some by hafiseazale (which I still want to try in the future!).
Hope this helps! 🙂
Wcif the garden edging stuff? :) also this may be a lot to ask but would you ever consider uploading the goth manor (despite the large amounts of cc but I don’t mind it)? :)
I must have just answered a wcif for the garden edging as you were sending this ask! 😛 You can find it in this set here. 🙂
I’m still very torn about whether or not to upload the mansion – it’s possible to upload a clean version of an inhabited lot – and I know you said you don’t mind the large amount of cc, but I’m very afraid of it breaking someone’s game because the amount of cc is exorbitant. D: (Also, to be honest, I haven’t even finished furnishing the interior yet! Sad, right? :P)
So at the moment, it’s all still very up in the air – and if I decide to do it, it will probably take a while because I would want to make sure I’ve included all the master meshes and required Maxis recolors that won’t necessarily package with the lot. D:
In the meantime, though, I posted floor plans here, and you can find all the interior pics (so far) here:
- Entry
- Library
- Living area
- Dining room
- Kitchen
- Master bathroom
- Mortimer’s room
- Cassandra’s room
- Alexander’s room
- Exterior 1, 2
Feel free to WCIF anything you see in there if you want to recreate it in your own game! 🙂
Hello! I have a question if you don’t mind. So I’m quite a newbie at playing Sims 2 with CC, and when I decided to add some stuff to my game, my downloads folder had become about 20GB. And then, of course, I had game crushes. Have you ever dealt problems caused by CC? If so, how did you solve it? I already used Delphy Organizer, but it didn’t help.. Thanks in advance!
Hiya! I do tend to play with a lot of CC – I’m not sure I’ve ever quite reached 20 GB, but I came close. My current computer handles it well, so while I do experience some crashing from time to time, I wouldn’t consider it extremely problematic. But to answer your question, yes, I have dealt with many problems caused by my incurable CC-downloading addiction. :3
Does your game tend to crash at certain points? For example, when you try to change a Sim’s outfit, or turn through a certain page in the buy catalog? If it keeps crashing at the same time, it’s possible you have a single piece of problem CC that can be isolated. When I have a situation like this (which happens a lot), I use the 50-50 method outlined here. Essentially, you split your downloads in half, test each half in-game separately to see if the crash persists. If the crash happens with half of the CC and not the other, you can determine that one half of your CC is “safe” and that the problem lies in the other half. Then you would repeat the process again, splitting the “bad” batch of CC in half and testing each half separately again. Eventually, you would isolate the problem piece of CC (I had to do this last night with my bodyshop defaults – I had something causing a conflict that I never would have guessed D:).
If your crashing happens more sporadically, it’s possible that you’ve reached “critical mass” – rather, you’ve reached the maximum CC threshold that your game can tolerate before problems start occurring. Sometimes this manifests itself in the form of random crashes, sometimes you might experience graphical glitches (such as flashing purple on your lots). In this case, the best course of action is to cull some of your downloads. And believe me, I know it’s hard to part with some CC. 😛 I would recommend making a back-up of your downloads folder so you’ll still have all your CC should you ever need to find something again, but then be ruthless with deleting! I’ve been playing with CC for years, so if I come across a piece of custom content that I’ve never used no matter how beautiful it is or how long I’ve had it, I take it out. I’ve also heard that it’s not necessarily the number of downloads but the number of new meshes you have in the game. You could try to stick to a few different pieces of furniture and just download more recolors of them instead of having, say, twenty different sofas that only come in one color.
I hope this helps you somehow! If you need other help, I frequently refer to the help section of MTS. I’ve been able to solve just about every CC-related problem using some of the tips and suggestions outlined there. 🙂 Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that could lead to game crashes when you play with custom content – it’s something every Simmer faces time and time again. 😛 It’s frustrating to no end, but somehow we put up with it. Ah, the things we do for the love of the game! :3
