When I first built Paddy Murphy’s Pub, I wanted it to be two floors (with the top floor open to look down on the floor below). At the time, I couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted it to. So I decided to fiddle around with it a bit and finally created a second floor I was happy with. 🙂

The upstairs has darts, billiards, stereo (for when the band’s not playing ;D), and additional seating. 🙂 I’ll try to reupload the new version eventually!

At the risk of sounding totally n00bish, I just figured I’d ask – does anyone have any suggestions as to why my game tends to crash, especially on community lots? It seems to happen more and more recently, although I haven’t been adding new downloads (on the contrary, I’ve been culling them). It’s frustrating because I love to build community lots and my Sims can’t even use them. -_- I wonder if maybe my system is getting overloaded? I have 6 GB of RAM, which is decent for TS2, so maybe it’s something else? *grumbles* 😦 Open to suggestions to improve game performance.

?

So on a whim I decided to check that my .exe file had been edited with CFF explorer (I had done this awhile ago and although I was pretty sure I did it on my SSD, it’s possible I had only done it on my other harddrive). Lo and behold, it had not been fixed. -_- (I think the edited .exe was replaced when I needed to reinstall a little while ago, since the crashing only started fairly recently).

ANYWAY, I revisited the community lot I had been on earlier when the game crashed, successfully sent two Sims on a date including dinner and going back to the playable Sim’s place (sometimes my game would crash upon leaving the lot or returning home). So far, so good. *fingers crossed*

Is it in any way related to a certain hood? I heard once about unsavory charlatan (I think it was) that got corrupt somehow, so the game would crash every time it tried to load him.

Hmmm, I basically only play in a single hood, so I don’t know if the problem would necessarily replicate itself. I was in my test hood yesterday for a little while to test out a community lot and everything went fine, but then again, I wasn’t really there too long. The Charlatan spawned in the test hood without any problems. I can try fiddling around with the visitor controller to ban him from lots in Sycamore Cove to see if that helps.
