If you want to back up your entire blog without resorting to Tumblr’s default backup (which has never worked for me), try this out. It saves all of your pictures, tags, and other miscellanea into a nice little folder wherever you happen to install it.

Highly recommend this if you want a back up. (Caveat: it’s only for Windows.) It’s much, much faster than using tumblr’s backup thing.

Oh awesome, I’ll give this a try because my backup seems to be stuck.

My tumblr back up actually finished this morning (I was shook), but after waiting 20 minutes for it to download, I figured I’d just stick with this method. It downloaded about 2000 posts in <5 minutes for me, so.

Brilliant! This worked like a charm for me. I feel much better having a full backup on my hard drive just in case 😀

Whaddup ppl! Right before my forced finals hiatus I promised a very sweet anon some posing tips but “studying” aka being on the verge of a mental breakdown got in the way. Well now that the nightmare is over and I can once again face the world with the confidence of a person that has a will to live, I thought why not go all out and do a step-by-step tutorial instead of just giving stray tips? So I put together this mini-tut where we’re gonna sloooowly pose the above pic and I’m gonna try to include things I wished someone had told me starting out lmao. Thanks so much for your custom dormie post! Do you have any updated links to where empty/clean neighborhood templates can be downloaded? Everything I find is outdated.

Hi there! Sorry for the delay in responding. 

If you just want empty templates (no playables, townies, or NPCs whatsoever, you will have to prompt the game to spawn them especially if you’ve downloaded the notownieregen/nodormieregen mods, etc.) – you can grab them all in one handy .zip in Pooklet’s thread HERE.

If you want clean templates (which, as the MATY thread would lead me to believe, contain Maxis neighborhoods and playables, but shouldn’t have townies/dormies/etc.), you can get them from HERE (thank you to the kind soul on MATY who put this working link up.) 

I would actually suggest reading through the MATY thread – it’s a bit lengthy and some of the information early on may be outdated, but it will definitely be helpful in answering a lot of questions on starting clean, custom neighborhoods, keeping file sizes down, and generally preventing the game from becoming unnecessarily bloated.

WCIF some make-up and eyes, i just started playing maxis-match and those things are the hardest to find for me, thanks <3

I actually don’t use much makeup in my game (I went on quite a bit of a deleting-spree recently). But I have Bodyshop open right now, so here’s a little list for you of nearly everything I have! 🙂

Blushes:

Eyeshadow:

Eyeliner:

Lipstick:

Freckles/Moles/Etc.:

And if defaults are your thing, I highly recommend Voleste’s defaulted makeup set, which includes several of the items listed above. 🙂

As for eyes, I only use one eye set in my game – Remix by keoni.

Thank you, anon friend! 😀 (You’ve made me realize I should make a resource page soon. And probably put a link to my WCIF/replies tags.)

My default skins are Mayberries’ Invasion skins. I’ve been using them for the longest time and I lovelovelove them. ❤ However, when I reinstalled using the Ultimate Collection, I redid my custom skins folder and regeneticized everything on my own personal scale – so I also use Apple Pie skins, Apple Pie v2 skins, Honey skins, and Honey skins (freckled) by lilith-sims and add-ons by sim-strangers. 

My default eyes are Remix by keoni-chan (you can get the full set HERE). Again, I’ve been using these for ages and have no intention of swapping them out anytime soon. ❤ (I used to have other custom sets, but aside from some alien eyes I’ve been using, I deleted all the other sets I had except for these.)

Hair and clothes – hm, I could go on for ages! I’ll give you some suggestions now to keep you busy, anon, but then I have to go to work. 😛 I’ll try to update this later, or make a full-blown resource page soon! 🙂

Hair (I only use hair in Remi’s Maxis-match textures/colors):

  • selenaq13 (probably constitutes 90% of my hair folder <3)
  • vadie
  • poppet-sims (her older hair downloads are in Remi’s colors/textures, although if you’re interested, she’s been retexturing massive amounts of hair in her own lovely Maxis-match colors now!)
  • alienpod (has lovely Maxis-match unnaturals)
  • eatfishcustard (a HUGE collection of hairs that allisas was kind enough to organize and tooltip *_* <3)

Clothes:

Of course, although it’s no longer being updated, trappingcrushes is an excellent source of Sims 2 finds (utilize the tag system to narrow down what you’re trying to find), and I should note that a lot of the clothes I use in-game are default replacements – be sure to raid the database! 🙂
