i miss my game so much ;_;

let 2018 go down as one of my busiest years on record (at least post-graduation lol)

It was cute when I said I’d have more free time after my friend’s wedding in June, right? 🙂 This has been a year of non-stop travelling for me – not a bad thing at all, but since I’m only off from work every other weekend, that means my weekends off have been jam-packed with trips and shows and other activities. I have almost too much of a life right now lmao

Weekend trips this year so far!

  • Philadelphia
  • Albany
  • Savannah
  • Chicago
  • Vermont (camping!)
  • Toronto this coming weekend

I’ll be off to Belgium and Amsterdam for a week in September (SO EXCITED, we literally booked it a few days ago and we leave in like a month lmao any recommendations are greatly appreciated as we’ve only researched the bare minimum, as usual), and Orlando for a weekend in November for our (seemingly annual) Universal Studios trip. 😛 It feels like the year has been flying by, and I guess it really has. :O (Downtime mostly spent watching the Yankees on TV.)

Anyway! Some quick pics from our Chicago weekend/Vermont camping trip/marathon Radiohead week. (Two shows in Chicago, two here in NY. And now that they’re almost done touring for now my life feels empty.)

Willis Tower sky deck! (Not pictured: me wanting to die. I’m terrified of heights and my legs were like jelly.)

Touristy picture in front of Cloud Gate/the bean.

Radiohead @ Madison Square Garden, night 1. Fun fact: I’ve seen Radiohead 11 times now I think, and night 2 in Chicago I FINALLY got to hear my favorite song live: Where I End and You Begin. *___* Another fun fact: night 1 in Chicago they played fucking BLOW OUT, which they haven’t played live in ten years. Bf and I lost our minds, we always joke about them finally playing it and we never once believed it would really happen.

Us city kids finally got away and got ourselves some nature for a weekend! Three nights camping in Vermont, mostly nice weather, practically no cell phone service (unsettling for bf, refreshing for me!). Kayaking on the lake, hiking, weenie roasting, enjoying some beers around the campfire. ❤

I brought my DSLR to Vermont, hoping to get some nice pictures of stars that I can’t get here in the city – was NOT expecting to get the Milky Way! An absolutely unreal moment for me. (Now, if only I can get into the habit of using my DSLR regularly instead of only when I’m on vacation…)

That’s it for this issue of random life update! I really do hope to get some play time in (maybe today?? do I dare hope??) I’ve been lurking on tumblr and enjoying everyone’s posts, feeling very inspired to get back to my own game (Sycamore Cove specifically!). I did notice a TON of new cc I need to download first, so lord knows that’ll probably happen before I even fire up my game again. Until then, take care all! ❤

hey all!

Yet another life update that’s not really a “blog” update!

Between work and the apartment, I’ve been keeping busy – still trying to get a good balance going between cleaning, cooking, laundry, and “free time” (aka watching Netflix and/or the Yankees). My work schedule hasn’t changed, but now that I suddenly have so many chores to do, I feel like I’m never off??? :’D But I’m loving my apartment so far (even if it’s still only half-furnished – we’ve been here for two months already and we still don’t have a couch lmao). Bf and I have also been busy with shows (this month we’ve seen Sigur Rós, LCD Soundsystem, and Dead & Company) and we even took a weekend trip to Boston and visited the home field of our rivals, the Red Sox. 🙂

I have been desperately missing TS2, and although the original plan was to buy a new desk before I brought over my PC, I still have not done so. HOWEVER, I’m pretty sure I’m going to bring over my PC this weekend anyway and set it up on the end of the dining table for now. 😀 Desperate times call for desperate measures! Can’t promise I’ll have things up and running before the beginning of July, but hopefully soon. 🙂

In the meantime, here’s a picture of my kitchen, aka the only room that is furnished and therefore where I spend the majority of my time. 😀

This picture is from a few weeks ago – I’ve been growing oregano, rosemary, and basil on the windowsill and they’re already considerably bigger than they are here! I’ve used some of the clippings in my cooking. 😀 (I’m pleasantly surprised they took off – bit of a gamble trying to grow plants in an apartment, but we get plenty of sunlight in our kitchen.)

Hope everyone is well! Have I missed out on any major developments?! I’ve been trying to keep up with tumblr as often as possible on the mobile app, but I’m sure there’s a lot of great stuff I’ve missed!

Concert pics galore!

Pictures from the (many) shows I went to last month during my unplanned hiatus. 😀

All were taken with my trusty iPhone. ;D

Flight of the Conchords: July 24, 2016 @ Central Park

These guys are hilarious! I got really into their HBO show and their albums while I was in college, but unfortunately they had already stopped touring for awhile. Never thought I’d get the chance to see them live – and with new material to play, too! 😀

Radiohead: July 26 + July 27, 2016 @ Madison Square Garden

AHHHHHHHHH what is there to say about Radiohead?! This was my fifth & sixth time seeing them (not including the three times I saw Atoms for Peace, and the time I saw Phil do a solo show :P). I got to the venue at 9:30 AM – and there were already 50+ people ahead of me on line. The people in the front of the line started queuing around midnight – Radiohead fans are intense. I’m definitely getting a bit too old to do things like this, BUT I DO IT FOR RADIOHEAD. ❤ It’s so worth it. I caved and got seated tickets for the second show, though – can’t queue two days in a row anymore. I’m not a college student who can just skip classes the next day if I’m tired. 😛

At the 7/26 show, they played “Let Down” for the first time in TEN YEARS. It’s gotta be in my top five Radiohead songs, so of course I cried. Of course.

Dion: July 29, 2016 @ NYCB Theatre at Westbury

As if my week wasn’t already amazing, I FUCKING MET DION DIMUCCI. Yeah. After watching his show from ROW A, SEAT 1. Honestly, I was so stunned, all I remember is waiting outside the stage door after the show. He came out, I held out a record for him to sign (”Donna the Prima Donna” <3), he looked at me expectantly (waiting for me to say something, like “hi” maybe????), and I just stared at him with the ^posted^ cheesy smile. Like an imbecile. I wanted to be like “Dion, can you sing at my wedding” (not that I’m even engaged yet, but minor detail) or “Dion, I went up to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx to check out your favorite restaurant”, but NOPE. I think I was just like “merrmermer”. Thankfully, I had boyfriend around to take a picture. :’D

AAAAHHHHHasdfghjkl

I’m back in New York, everyone!

I had an absolutely INCREDIBLE time in Europe. We spent two days in Dublin, five days in Galway, and five days in London (our stay in London also involved a day trip to Paris :D). We did a bunch of tours and tried to cram in as much sightseeing as possible (and of course, we spent all of our nights in Ireland at various trad music pubs <3). As the photos above indicate, we had nearly perfect weather the entire two weeks we were there – no rain whatsoever until the day before our flight home, and even then it was an overnight thunderstorm. 🙂

All of the photos above are from the Galway leg of our trip (brief captions, if you’re interested). I haven’t even sifted through the pictures from London and Paris yet. D: Maybe I’ll share some more eventually!

Anywho, I miss you all SO MUCH. I’ve been super busy getting back into the swing of things, but as soon as life calms down a bit, I’m itching to get some play time in! Also, I have a couple WCIFs that still need answering – so sorry to everyone who has left me a message! I’ll try to answer those as promptly as possible. 🙂

Hope you’ve all been well! ❤
