ICELAND, you guys.

I’m back! Let me tell you – Iceland is the trip of a lifetime. It’s such a beautiful, magical place that it doesn’t even seem real. I fell in love with everything about it. ❤ I managed to pick a select few pictures to share under the cut (a difficult task, as Iceland is so photogenic that it’s hard to pick out just a few good shots!). I’m contemplating starting a side blog for my (super amateur) photography, if only just to share some more Iceland pics without cluttering this blog. 🙂

Also, if anyone has any questions about anything, feel free to ask! I could talk about this trip forever. 😛

View of Reykjavík from the top of Hallgrímskirkja, the largest church (and one of the largest buildings) in Iceland.

Just one of the many gorgeous views in Þingvellir National Park. ❤

Öxarárfoss, a waterfall located within Þingvellir (and the first of many beautiful waterfalls we saw on our trip).

Þórufoss, a waterfall not far from Þingvellir, and the surrounding scenery, where this scene from Game of Thrones was filmed. (Also: first snowfall of the season!)

Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, is known for being the waterfall you can walk behind. As you can see from the photo, it was one big icy death trap, so we did not attempt this feat. 🙂 Next time!

Skógafoss, another icy death trap famous waterfall.

Casual hiking near Sólheimajökull, which extends from the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. On my list of things to do next time: actual glacier climbing!

View of the black sand beaches from Dyrhólaey.

Sunset over Reynisfjara.

Gamla Laugin, or the Secret Lagoon! Almost everyone has heard of Iceland’s Blue Lagoon (we did that one as well), but the Secret Lagoon is a hidden gem. Unlike the man-made Blue Lagoon, Gamla Laugin is a natural hot spring fed by a little geyser, which you can watch as it spouts every so often. 🙂

Panoramic view of Kerið, a volcanic crater lake.

Aaaaaaand last, but not least, we were fortunate enough to see the aurora on our first night (although it was only for a few minutes – the clouds rolled in rather quickly). This was the best shot I was able to get, as we didn’t expect to see them at all and I hastily set up my tripod on the balcony. But GAH. ❤

That’s all for now! I am not exaggerating when I say I cried on our last night there (I’ve never been so sad to say goodbye to a place, although this also had a lot to do with our wonderful B&B hostess, who treated us like family). I really hope to return in the next few years, perhaps in the summertime when I can make the most of all those daylight hours. ;D

Concert pics galore!

Pictures from the (many) shows I went to last month during my unplanned hiatus. 😀

All were taken with my trusty iPhone. ;D

Flight of the Conchords: July 24, 2016 @ Central Park

These guys are hilarious! I got really into their HBO show and their albums while I was in college, but unfortunately they had already stopped touring for awhile. Never thought I’d get the chance to see them live – and with new material to play, too! 😀

Radiohead: July 26 + July 27, 2016 @ Madison Square Garden

AHHHHHHHHH what is there to say about Radiohead?! This was my fifth & sixth time seeing them (not including the three times I saw Atoms for Peace, and the time I saw Phil do a solo show :P). I got to the venue at 9:30 AM – and there were already 50+ people ahead of me on line. The people in the front of the line started queuing around midnight – Radiohead fans are intense. I’m definitely getting a bit too old to do things like this, BUT I DO IT FOR RADIOHEAD. ❤ It’s so worth it. I caved and got seated tickets for the second show, though – can’t queue two days in a row anymore. I’m not a college student who can just skip classes the next day if I’m tired. 😛

At the 7/26 show, they played “Let Down” for the first time in TEN YEARS. It’s gotta be in my top five Radiohead songs, so of course I cried. Of course.

Dion: July 29, 2016 @ NYCB Theatre at Westbury

As if my week wasn’t already amazing, I FUCKING MET DION DIMUCCI. Yeah. After watching his show from ROW A, SEAT 1. Honestly, I was so stunned, all I remember is waiting outside the stage door after the show. He came out, I held out a record for him to sign (”Donna the Prima Donna” <3), he looked at me expectantly (waiting for me to say something, like “hi” maybe????), and I just stared at him with the ^posted^ cheesy smile. Like an imbecile. I wanted to be like “Dion, can you sing at my wedding” (not that I’m even engaged yet, but minor detail) or “Dion, I went up to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx to check out your favorite restaurant”, but NOPE. I think I was just like “merrmermer”. Thankfully, I had boyfriend around to take a picture. :’D

AAAAHHHHHasdfghjkl

Music meme!

While I decide whether to load my game, or download some new pretties first. 😉
