I really want to change the terrain of Sycamore Cove and redecorate it to better incorporate all of the new hood deco that’s available, and maybe make it more condensed and cohesive? (Let’s be real, at the rate I play I will never fill up the terrain, so something smaller would work). I kind of want to rebuild a bunch of the houses/community lots too because I am insane but that’s besides the point. I just can’t seem to find a terrain to fit my ~very specific vision~

So I guess I have a general question, how difficult is it to create your own terrain in SC4? I’ve never played it before, but I’d be willing to mess around if there isn’t like a crazy learning curve. Any advice is appreciated, sorry I’m like this 😦

I finally managed to get ts2 ultimate collection, thanks to ea support, and I’m so happy! I haven’t done much besides downloading cc and reading your story, and im so in love with all your sims <3 I wanted to ask you, if you could explain and/or give some tips on how you play. Do you switch between all your families etc.. Sorry if this is a odd ask, but I've havent played this game in years, and i really love the way your game looks :) lots of love <3

Ahhhhh awesome! I’m happy you were able to get the UC 🙂 and I’m happy you’ve been enjoying my story, even though it’s more random commentary than a story (and sometimes even less than that). 😀

I don’t have a set style of playing, the only thing I really follow when I play is that I play in “rounds” that follow the seasons (although the seasons in my neighborhood are all completely out of sync but ANYWAY). Five days to a season, so five days per household, then I move on to the next. 🙂 Other than that, no set way of doing things. If you’d like more structure in your gameplay, you can always try a BaCC. It’s pretty similar to how I play, except you follow a basic rule set (there are many different kinds out there, pick one that suits your gameplay style or just make up your own!) and you play to “unlock” certain careers, or community lots, or adding new townies/households based on the productivity and achievements of your founding sims. I’ve never officially played one, but it always seemed like a lot of fun and a bit more challenging and goal-oriented than regular gameplay. If I had more time to devote to TS2, I’d like to attempt it. 🙂

But yeah! To answer your question, I pretty much just started with a bunch of random sims at college, played with them a bit before introducing new sims, they eventually started pairing off and getting married or having kids, so now I have about seven?? households in the main hood (plus two university households) that I play through in rounds. 🙂

However, I am VERY slow at playing through rounds. Like, painfully slow. Lack of time, spending too much time on screenshots (trying to get better at just playing and not documenting so much), and organizing cc instead of playing. To put it in perspective, I am currently (as of April 2018) playing the Caron household. I last played that household in JANUARY 2017 lmao. It’s basically taking me over a year to get through the entire hood. (To be fair, 2017 was a bad year for me in terms of TS2 time, but the point remains.)

Now that I’ve completely derailed from the original question, I hope you have fun with TS2 again after all these years, no matter how you decide to play! And thank you again for your kind words ❤

YOU GUYS, I’m actually like, three rounds ahead of what I’ve posted so far :O I’ve really just been in the mood to play lately, I guess. 😀

also I recently decided to catch up on @darkestdawn‘s BaCC and HOLY WOW I have so much inspiration and want to build so many things and I just want to move to Oceanside

Questions about custom vacation destinations!

I’d like to add a custom vacation destination to my neighborhood, but I was wondering if it’s possible to create vacation destinations (lots) within the main hood? If not, I kind of want to create one vacation subhood with a variety of destinations (tropical, mountainous, etc., kind of like the TS1 vacation hood). Is this feasible? Any good SC4 recommendations? Or, if I wind up just making two separate subhoods, is there a way to set up vacation locals that doesn’t involve the Townie Brick? (It doesn’t play well with my other mods…)

GAH sorry for all the questions, I just know this is going to be a bit of an undertaking so I’m still trying to figure out the best way to approach it. :’)

When you play your game do you know who is gonna end up with who or do you go by the chemistry system or some kind of combo of the two things? :D

(answering this publicly because it got a bit lengthy and because I always enjoy reading how people play their games and maybe other people will be interested as well??)

Since I’ve added ACR to my game, I pretty much let my Sims determine their own fate – which of course will take into account their turn-ons, turn-offs, jealousy settings, gender preferences, etc. However, as you might expect with ACR (especially in a large dorm where only two or three of the Sims are controllable and everyone else just runs on free will), there are bound to be a ton of unplanned hookups. 😛 In that case, I tried to pair off my Sims with who they matched with best, but in some cases my own “ships”, if you will, got in the way. 😛

I liked Sheila and Alfred together from the start – they hit it off fairly quickly, but then out of nowhere he started acting like an ass and they had a bunch of negative interactions and he was constantly engaging in romantic interactions with, like, every other girl in the dorm. I even had Sheila fall in love with the evil warlock NPC instead, and with another dormie Chase (I later found out that ACR randomized his gender preference to male but I had already forced Sheila upon him so now they still have a weird “in love” relationship :3). But somewhere after that, Alfred kept calling her, visiting her, initiating romantic interactions, etc., so I just let that play out. I think they’re only one-bolters, though.

Same with Nate and Tabitha – although you’d never believe they were one-bolters by the way they act. XD There was a time when I moved Tabitha out of the main dorm and Nate fell in love with another dormie (his best friend). I’m a sucker for the best-friends-in-love-who-can’t-be-together scenario, and I was *THISCLOSE* to breaking off his engagement to Tabitha in favor of the other sim. D: But when he next reunited with Tabitha they were just so cute and so in love that I couldn’t bring myself to do it. D:

In my last hood, I had one couple predetermined from their inception in bodyshop – and they were adorable together. 😛 But the rest of the pairings were based on chemistry alone. In fact, one of the couples were paired together on a blind date, hit it off, got married, started a family – and that’s where Tabitha came from. :3 Out of all the kidlets from the previous hood, she was my favorite, so I extracted her and aged her up and moved her to Sycamore Cove to start a life of her own. /tangent

Well, that was a lot more information than you asked for. XD But it’s crazy how a few mods can stir up enough drama in the game to keep it interesting and unpredictable! So the short answer to your question would be – I try to use the chemistry system and let ACR have its way with everyone, but my own bias tends to get in the way sometimes. 😛

Hi everyone! I somehow came up with the brilliant idea to sift through my 22k+ likes as a long-term kind of project (don’t all the best ideas happen in the wee hours of the morning?).

Sadly, tumblr’s “like” system does not make it easy to go back and find things later on (unless I’m missing something?). So in order to better organize posts with downloads, resources, how-tos, floorplans, and other generally inspiring decor or imagery, I’ve created two side blogs: fi-hearts ( simspiration blog) and simper-fi-finds (downloads & resources). Feel free to follow if you’d like, though they’re not going to be updated in any official way. It’s more for my own personal organization purposes. 🙂

That’s all, I hope to get some play time in soon – had work all weekend and I’m looking forward to getting out early tomorrow! 🙂
