IT MAH BIRTHDAY gift for you all! 🙂 (Well, it was my birthday. I meant to post this before midnight, but who knew I’d have to restart my game half a dozen times while building/playtesting a CC-free lot??) 

I must admit, I had a lot of fun building something CC-free. 🙂 It was challenging, but in a good way. I got to play around with some Maxis stuff that tends to fall by the wayside among my gigs of CC. 

So, just like it says – a CC-free community lot on a 2×2 lot (the usual). The only “activity” on the lot is an espresso bar, but there’s definitely room to rearrange if you want to add a chess table, tea table, Myshuno, or something. (Actually, the little “sun room” by the entrance is perfect for a card table.) There are two single-Sim bathrooms that I didn’t bother taking pictures of, but they exist. 🙂 

Important stuff! 

  • I have all EPs and SPs.
  • Everything ran smoothly in playtesting (not that there’s much to test here). Sims got coffee and sat on the couch around the fireplace chatting, it was nice. Definitely a very social place. 😉
  • I just noticed the pictures behind the counter are uneven, d’oh. They should be fine in the packaged lot. I took my preview pictures with the rest of my mods/downloads installed, and the Sweet Down Low fix brought all my paintings to the floor. I clearly didn’t fix them properly for the preview shots. 😀
  • Speaking of, if you have the Sweet Down Low fix installed, all the paintings will be at floor level when you load the lot! Sorry about that. D: I was trying to build a really CC-free lot, so I took out EVERYTHING (mods included) during the building/decorating process.
  • RECOMMENDED BUT NOT INCLUDED: invisible espresso bar recolor (because that stupid bar didn’t match the rest of the place :|). With this recolor installed, you can use the espresso bar with any counters! ❤ 
  • Feel free to edit to your heart’s content. 

The lot is CC-free, but use the Clean Installer anyway (it’s a good habit!!).

exterior – interior

As requested, here is Izumi Sushi up for download! It’s a 2×2 community lot (because that’s all I ever build). It comes with a dining podium (full dining service – Nightlife required for this!) and a bar. 

ALL REQUIRED FILES ARE INCLUDED (yay!). Or at least they should be. I tested my game without any other CC except what’s in the .rar and everything looked okay. You will need the Sweet Down Low fix and the CEP to ensure that wall hangings are at the proper height (or you will need to adjust them) and that Maxis recolors show up.

Important notes:

  • I have all EPs and SPs.
  • The lot may look a tad different from the screenshots – I changed some lighting to better suit the atmosphere, and I added extra counters to prevent Sims from getting behind the hibachi grill. The grill doesn’t spawn a cook, obviously, so I didn’t see the point in having Sims able to get behind the counter. They can be seated at the counter and order table service, but I thought it looked better to have the back off-limits. Feel free to change it back if you’d like!
  • The sushi platters are actually edible food! The two on the counter top aren’t usable, unfortunately. 😦  (I’m not sure why? Maybe I need to playtest it a bit more.) There are two additional platters – one on the dining table and one in the kitchen. Yes, Sims will go into the kitchen to grab a plate. -_- (Side note: is there a way to prevent random Sims from entering restaurant kitchens??!)
  • All of the barstools were accessible in my playtesting.
  • Random Maxis rug in the middle of the road? That’s where I had my road replacement overlay. Random fruit basket in the grass? That’s where I had my sky object (removed during packaging to cut down on file size). Just delete them! :3
  • The lot got a bit crowded during playtesting and Sims were throwing the usual route-failure tantrum. Feel free to rearrange the interior to add a bit more walk space. 
  • I didn’t playtest the bathrooms but they should be fine??
  • I bulk-renamed my files at some point – please be aware of this, as my files may not necessarily overwrite yours, resulting in duplicates.

As always, use the CLEAN INSTALLER!

As requested, here is the Center Stage Dance Studio up for download! It’s a 2×2 community lot. Master files for windows and doors are included, but as always, if something flashes blue let me know!

  • I have all EPs and SPs.
  • I tried to remove all unnecessary recolors from the lot package, but in some instances I couldn’t remember which recolor I used. Use the Clean Installer to remove any recolors you don’t want.
  • I haven’t thoroughly playtested it, but Sims shouldn’t have any issues using the bathrooms. Let me know if something goes awry. 
  • Feel free to edit to your heart’s content.
  • I bulk-renamed my files at some point – please be aware of this, as my files may not necessarily overwrite yours, resulting in duplicates.

As requested, here is the Dunne-Blake residence up for download! It’s a 2×2 unfurnished residential lot. I took out all of the furniture inside to cut down on CC/file size, but it was only minimally furnished to lay out the floor plan, anyway. Gardening outside is intact, except for the trees. It also has a pretty nifty pool! 😀

I forgot to included the master meshes this time, I’m sorry! 😦 You should only need the Bari master mesh for the doors/arches and possibly a master mesh from Ohbehave’s Miasmata conversions for some of the outside ferns. If something else flashes blue, let me know!

House Thingy 1 – 2×2 Residential Lot – Sparingly Furnished – $33k I think?

This is me making good on my promise to build some lots for you! Here’s a pretty boxy lot that was inspired by my loft (this one isn’t a loft but could easily be converted to one!). 

Small front yard/garden, small backyard/garden, sizeable deck space (the “roof” over the front door could be converted to another deck by adding a door between the upstairs windows, I had one there at first but realized it might be overkill :P). Small flat roof space on the left (above the side door) would make a great garden terrace. I didn’t do the landscaping myself because I wanted to keep this relatively CC-free. :3 There’s also room for a driveway – or if your Sims walk everywhere (as I do :D), you can easily expand the house or the yard, whatever you’d like. 🙂 

  • I have all EPs and SPs.
  • Included in the .rar is the master mesh for the doors (I think only one master mesh was needed, everything else should be okay?? As always, if something flashes blue, let me know!)
  • The only CC included is build mode stuff – windows, doors, staircase, fence, and maybe a wall or floor. OH, I also packaged the floor-edge hider I used to make the nice white trim around the deck.

2×2 Community Lot – Dining – Cafe

Requested by pleasant-lives! It’s been awhile since I uploaded a lot, and I tried really hard to include recolors and master meshes that didn’t package, so bear with me here.

  • I have all EPs and SPs.
  • The building has three floors but only the bottom level is furnished. I just wanted the upper levels for aesthetic purposes. 🙂
  • Included in the .rar is a folder with master meshes, Maxis recolors, add-ons, and other files that didn’t package.
  • I tried really hard to include only the recolors that were used to cut down on file size, but in some cases I couldn’t remember the exact recolor (such as which iCad color I used for the cafe table) or the file name was too non-specific for me to weed out. Sorry about that. D: But the folders are descriptively named so you can pick and choose what you want/need.
  • I bulk-renamed my files at some point – please be aware of this, as my files may not necessarily overwrite yours, resulting in duplicates.

THINGS I COULDN’T FIND (and thus didn’t include):

  • “Surreal Grilled Cheese” painting in dining room (any ideas???)
  • whatever godforsaken counter recolor I used in the cafe – OH! Speaking of cafe counter, I used (but am not sure if I packaged?) this amazing invisible espresso bar recolor, allowing you to use it with whichever counters you want. 😀

OPTIONAL PAINTINGS:

I included the painting recolors by selenaq13 that I used because I utilized basically the entire set, but for other paintings dispersed throughout the lot (two random paintings in the restrooms, and one in the cafe), I didn’t think it was necessary/prudent to include a ton of recolors for something that could be so easily changed. The ones I used, however, can be found by slyndseysims HERE and voleste HERE or HERE. 

ABOVE ALL, PLEASE USE THE CLEAN INSTALLER, I BEG YOU!

Side note: I didn’t get to play test this lot yet. D: I don’t anticipate any major issues/routing problems, but of course I will update immediately should anything come up.

Lochlander had asked if I would share this lot or post the floorplan, so I figured I’d do both. Feel free to copy/recreate this lot in your own game if you don’t particularly want to download the package file. 🙂 

Please use the Clean Installer. I’ve also bulk-renamed my files, so they won’t necessarily overwrite yours if there are duplicates. 

I have all EPs and SPs except Teen Style Stuff. Obviously, Nightlife is required.

Required but NOT INCLUDED:

  • NL Sectional recolors: I’m fairly certain the wood recolor is by Poppet, but the fabric is either by Poppet or Anna.
  • Ohbehave Miasmata tree: Ohbehave’s wonderful Miasmata set makes heavy use of the repository technique, and the only tree I used on the lot is a slaved file so you will need the master from her set to make it show up. (The whole set is amazing and everyone should have it already, just sayin’.)

Notes:

  • The lot has a second floor, but it’s completely empty. I originally wanted to model the lot after several pubs I’ve been to that have an open second floor with a balcony to look down on the stage below. However, I couldn’t actually execute the idea to my liking, but thought the exterior looked better with a second floor so it remained for decorative purposes only. 😛 If you wanted to make the second floor functional, it’d be easy enough to just delete one of the corner booths and put a staircase in. 
  • I shamelessly reused the same bar posters by Around the Sims all over the place because I really liked them and I REALLY like Guinness. I even broke my Simlish-only rule for them because I was too lazy to figure out how to make my own recolors. Maybe some day… (Sidebar: If anyone knows of other good bar posters, particularly in Simlish, I’m all ears!)
  • The bar shelf is a TS3 conversion by HafiseAzale, and at the time of building/packaging I used the default color. However, withlovefromsimtown recently shared some recolors (one of which matches the bar and counters perfectly, I’ve already checked in-game). Definitely worth a look if you want the whole thing to be matchy-matchy. 
  • IT TOOK SO LONG TO FIGURE OUT A CONFIGURATION WHERE ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS WOULD BE ACCESSIBLE
  • The name was taken from this song. ❤

Not the most ground-breaking feat as far as architectural design goes (I like big boxes and I cannot lie), but I think it’s rather cozy. 🙂 I also firmly believe that nothing beats an Irish pub at Christmastime, hence the liberal use of lights and garland throughout.

A Wow-I’ve-Accumulated-A-Bunch-of-Lovely-Followers-and-Now-I-Want-to-Give-Something-Back Gift

Thora asked if I was planning to upload this lot, and I thought it would be a good idea to finally share something on here. I’ve never shared something before and I’m completely afraid of combusting someone’s computer so PLEASE TELL ME IF I MESSED ANYTHING UP. *panicked sweat*

This is a large file size (mostly because of the 693205280 billion plants I put in), so please use the Clean Installer to remove what you don’t want. I’ve also bulk-renamed my files, so they won’t necessarily overwrite yours if there are duplicates. 

Notes:

  • This was made with all EPs and SPs except Teen Style Stuff, with many objects coming from Celebration! Stuff, especially in the reception hall. 
  • The choir loft is completely inaccessible and for decorative purposes only. 😛
  • When testing the wedding arch in the church, the large chair on the altar blocks the kiss at the end of the wedding cut scene. Just thought I’d point that out in case it bothers anyone.
  • I have Shasta’s Sweet Down Low fix for Holiday Stuff installed, so the bows on the end of the benches might look wonky if you don’t.
  • The lot contains Inge’s Teleporter Shrub and Formal Dress Sign, which I included to make it easier for me to summon townies and dress them up appropriately for a wedding. 😛

PS. I am aware that lots (especially large CC-filled ones) aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so I’m going to try working on a few more followers gifts of different variations. 🙂Â
