hey all!

Yet another life update that’s not really a “blog” update!  

Between work and the apartment, I’ve been keeping busy – still trying to get a good balance going between cleaning, cooking, laundry, and “free time” (aka watching Netflix and/or the Yankees). My work schedule hasn’t changed, but now that I suddenly have so many chores to do, I feel like I’m never off??? :’D But I’m loving my apartment so far (even if it’s still only half-furnished – we’ve been here for two months already and we still don’t have a couch lmao). Bf and I have also been busy with shows (this month we’ve seen Sigur Rós, LCD Soundsystem, and Dead & Company) and we even took a weekend trip to Boston and visited the home field of our rivals, the Red Sox. 🙂 

I have been desperately missing TS2, and although the original plan was to buy a new desk before I brought over my PC, I still have not done so. HOWEVER, I’m pretty sure I’m going to bring over my PC this weekend anyway and set it up on the end of the dining table for now. 😀 Desperate times call for desperate measures! Can’t promise I’ll have things up and running before the beginning of July, but hopefully soon. 🙂 

In the meantime, here’s a picture of my kitchen, aka the only room that is furnished and therefore where I spend the majority of my time. 😀 

This picture is from a few weeks ago – I’ve been growing oregano, rosemary, and basil on the windowsill and they’re already considerably bigger than they are here! I’ve used some of the clippings in my cooking. 😀 (I’m pleasantly surprised they took off – bit of a gamble trying to grow plants in an apartment, but we get plenty of sunlight in our kitchen.) 

Hope everyone is well! Have I missed out on any major developments?! I’ve been trying to keep up with tumblr as often as possible on the mobile app, but I’m sure there’s a lot of great stuff I’ve missed!

hey everyone!

I’m still here, albeit as more of a lurker lately. 🙂 Moving to the new apartment has been keeping me busy! On one hand, since it’s located so close to my parents’ place, it’s easy to bring stuff over as I need it. On the other hand, since there’s no real sense of urgency, it feels like I still have so much to do because I’m taking my sweet time. 😛 My desktop is still at my parents’ place, so TS2 time is limited at the moment. 

However! I did have time to fire up my game this weekend while bf was at work, and I played 1.5 rounds in Sycamore Cove! I’m behind in posting, of course, but it felt so good to get actual gameplay in. I was in a bit of a rut (constantly loading my game and not having the energy to play, or just wanting to build or play around in bodyshop, etc.). But I forced myself to just play for a little bit without focusing too much on screenshots, etc., just to get the neighborhood moving again. I think it worked. 🙂 I’m off to load up my game again and hopefully queue up some screenshots while I’m at it.

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the silence lately – bf and I went to Atlanta last weekend for a Radiohead show, I worked most of this week/weekend, binge-watched a bunch of Cheers episodes, aaaaaand… *drumroll* we got an apartment! 😀 It’s super exciting but also stressful (as with TS2, the hardest part of anything is settling on a wall color – and you can’t just shift-click to change it!). But I’m having a lot of fun picking out furniture sets and decor and stuff. 🙂 (Not looking forward to assembling everything, though…)

We went to a Yankees-Braves exhibition game (first game at the Braves’ new stadium!), visited Zoo Atlanta, saw Radiohead (of course ❤_❤), and took in the views of Centennial Olympic Park from the Skyview wheel. 🙂 And basically basked in the lovely 70-degree weather while our family and friends back home had a cold, rainy weekend. 😀

Aaaaaanyway, I have a relatively light week this week (besides furniture shopping and Easter festivities) and I’m itching to get back in-game! I was lurking enough over the last few weeks to know that we had even more amazing developments in our modding community (custom sliders?!) so a download spree is definitely in order. 😀

I am so. pissed. right now. I spent about an hour and half updating my resource list and ALL THE LINKS DISAPPEARED.

Silver lining: I had SUSPICIOUS FEELING that some of this typical tumblr bullshit would happen, so I made a backup of my original resource list on LJ, but I added so many new links just now. ;____;

At least all the items are there, I just need to hunt down the URLs again. Sigh.

Rotation players!

Or at least those who are as slow at playing as I am: do you ever really stop to think about how long it takes for you to do a full rotation, or come back to the same family again? I’m playing the Bushby family at the moment, and my archive tells me I haven’t played their household since October. :O Crazy how time flies! (Or, I should say, crazy how slow I am at playing. :D)

Theme updates

Nothing major, but I’m trying to update/organize my links (such as tags, WCIFs, etc.). I’ve added an FAQ page (it’s probably still difficult to find, since at the moment I can’t get my links bar to cooperate with me and the only way I could get it to show up is to keep it under the “Miscellaneous” tab, but it’s there). I also spent the evening doing a write-up on custom neighborhood/townie creation, since I get a lot of questions on that. So that link is under “Miscellaneous”, too.

Just thought I’d give a heads-up in case I manage to royally screw something up here. 🙂

A friend of mine plays TS3 and she has this crazy Harry Potter neighborhood where all sorts of drama and hilarity ensue, so of course I thought it’d be fun to throw a bunch of HP characters into a hood in TS2 and see how it goes.

WELL.

“For fun” turned into me getting waaaaaayyy more invested than I originally thought (of course). To the point where I spent two nights downloading custom cc and spent hours in body shop making Sims, hair retextures, and even a clothing rexture. And of course I’m nowhere near finished.
