I’ve always wanted to do this, and I had so much fun at @holesoulsims’s stream yesterday that I finally worked up the nerve and started one HERE! I’m decorating the Grunt house and listening to some 80s music (I don’t have a mic at this time but if streaming goes well, maybe I’ll consider getting one). Feel free to pop in! This is more a test run than anything (and now you can see how indecisive I am when it comes to decorating).
This looks amazing! Where do you find these floor plans? I’ve tried googling floor plans but they’re just so…difficult looking lol. 😛
Thank you! I don’t use any specific site, I usually just google oddly-specific things (like “three-bedroom craftsman house plans” or “one-floor ranch house plans”) and take it from there. Homeplans.com has a good filter/search feature. 🙂 Of course, once I pick a house plan/exterior I like, I greatly simplify the interior, making it bigger/smaller or more/less boxy, depending on how difficult it would be to recreate. Believe me, I used to hate building from floor plans, but the alternative was coming up with them myself… which I’m also terrible at lmao. So you get used to it! It’s more to provide a starting point, anyway. 🙂

Hey, everyone! (Anyone who’s still following me, I mean.) I’m here to announce that I’m back! No gonewodwo, or Apocalypse Desiderata (Sorry! I miss it too! But this simblr will remain up as an archive forever I hope), but the simmer behind both has relocated to a shiny new Simblr. I’m currently playing a legacy and maybe eventually some manner of Uberhood and possibly even creating CC occasionally.

Ahhh thank you! I’ve been on a rustic kick lately (something about the fall makes me want to make everything look rustic and cozy!). Sometimes I wish I went the rustic look with my own apartment, but then I remember I like mid-century modern, too. 😛
EA removed securom from The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, there’s a post about it on SimsVIP.
Yep, I mentioned it in my post! I didn’t run the update myself since I’ve already removed SecuROM and run the game without going through Origin, but I made a point of mentioning that although the update removes SecuROM, some people were forced to do complete reinstalls or reset their graphics rules because Origin automatically ran the update before people could make proper backups. Again, not too familiar with what happened since I didn’t perform the Origin update myself, just mentioning what I saw some people on my dash talking about. 🙂
That’s funny because i use way too much purple and avoid orange like the plaque.
Haha, orange is quite a polarizing color! Maybe I’m more drawn to it because I’m in an autumn sort of mood. 😛 I’m not a fan of pastel colors in general, which is why I usually stay away from pinks/purples/lavender/periwinkle/etc., but I like deep purple shades, like plum. 🙂
I only just started syncing seasons, myself. It never bothered me before, either, but I kind of like it. 🙂 (Also, it’s good to have you back, dear. 🙂 )

Thank you dear! I think it is in the in-game lighting because a lot of my later screenshots are much warmer, but we’ll see when the weather/seasons change if the lighting updates with it! 😉

Ano2ukused to be the go-to spot for clutter – the page still exists, but it’s quite outdated and a lot of the links don’t work anymore (Blackpearlsims, 8-3 Atelier, old livejournals, etc.). However! It’s still worth a look because many of those items are uploaded elsewhere (like Simscave, so definitely make an account there), and they’re organized nicely with pictures so you can find exactly what you need!

Like I said, I have a ton of clutter from other random places, so this list is by no means all-inclusive! These are just a few off the top of my head that either have a lot of clutter to download, or whose objects I tend to use over and over again in my game. Don’t forget to check out Garden of Shadows (threads like Secret Santa, CiJ, Advent, Founder’s Day, etc. are treasure troves of cc – there’s tons of clutter dispersed throughout!). Hey anon! Yep, everything on that page is still current. I’m still running Windows 7, too. I’ve heard Windows 10 horror stories, but there are lots of people running the game on Windows 10, so that means there must be a solution! 🙂 Leefish is a great place to look for answers, and (if I recall correctly), a good number of Windows 10 issues stem from SecuROM. So if you remove SecuROM (or you ran the game update on Origin that removes SecuROM although people experienced issues with that as well), you should be well on your way to a lag-free, enjoyable TS2 experience!
Everyone was so excited about the new house that they all hung around outside dancing/hugging/playing catch instead of checking out in the interior.
