Top- and bottom-only clothes are a great way to introduce versatility to your Sims’ clothing, such as more shoe options, without needing an individual mesh for each combination. I tend to use top-only dresses (to combine with other bottoms) more than I use bottom-only dresses (to pair with jackets/cardigans/etc), but it definitely allows for more creativity as far as outfits go!
